Director Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer, 68, were found dead in their Los Angeles residence.
According to international media reports, the bodies showed wounds consistent with a knife, while the perpetrator of the murder is suspected to be their son Nick.
Media reports say the alarm was raised at around 3:30pm local time, but when firefighters arrived, they could only confirm the death. The front door showed no signs of forced entry.
Rob Reiner is 78 years old and his wife, Michele, is 68 years old.
Reiner directed iconic films like "Stand By Me," "The Princess Bride" and "When Harry Met Sally...", the latter of which led him to the love of his life.
While directing the film "When Harry Met Sally," Rob met Michele, a photographer... and the two married in 1989. Their relationship convinced Rob to change the ending of the romantic comedy so that Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan's characters would end up together.
Rob continued to direct throughout their more than 35 years of marriage. They had three children together; Jake, Nick and Romy. Rob also has a daughter, Tracy, from his first marriage to director Penny Marshall.
