Western countries have condemned the Russian presidential elections, calling them not free and fair.
"These elections were not free and fair. OSCE observers were absent and they were kept under an environment characterized by intimidation," said the EU High Representative, Josep Borrell.
While Olaf Scholz called the process a "pseudo-election", held under the auspices of an authoritarian ruler who relies on censorship, repression and violence.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron condemned the holding of elections in the annexed territories of Ukraine.
The foreign ministers of Latvia and Lithuania also criticized the process, stressing that it has nothing similar to an election process.
From Kiev, President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that "the Russian dictator simulated another election".
Meanwhile, from Beijing, the Chinese government was the only one to congratulate Putin for another 6 years at the head of the Kremlin.
The election commission gave Putin a landslide victory of 87.28% of the vote, a record result that observers say was only possible through force, repression and fraud.
Voter turnout was officially estimated at 77.44%.
