What a shameful end to a shameful presidency!
Instead of leaving this presidential race with dignity, instead of showing long-suffering Americans the respect they deserve, President Joe Biden hastily announced his withdrawal from the race - on social media.
Joe Biden ignored us!
This is not the Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) of 1968. In fact, this retreat—in tone, content, shame and bitterness—is reminiscent of none other than Richard Nixon's resignation.
Biden has humiliated himself, the nation, the Democratic elites, the mega-donors and the liberal media outlets that spent years covering him.
And at first he didn't even support his vice president! Someone had to resolve the situation on X with a hasty follow-up post in support of Kamala.
"I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country that I step down," his letter said. At last!
Dr. Jill must have been on strong sedatives.
Her personal X account, as of this writing, still has the caption: "Let's get the job done." She could only repost her husband's letter without any remark of her own, just a red heart emoji.
Stay classy, Jill and Joe.
So sudden was the announcement this Sunday afternoon that it makes you wonder if it was posted before Biden changed his mind.
Before Hunter could fly from his home in Malibu. Before Barack Obama was forced to deliver the fatal blow.
Announcements of this magnitude are usually preceded by a warning to the media. Early reports are that senior Biden campaign staff did not know about the letter. Only a small fraction were told a minute before someone pressed the "publish" button.
This raises more questions.
For example: Who wrote it? When was it drafted? Was it simply his decision, or was he forced?
Why didn't Biden, like LBJ before him, announce his monumental decision to resign during a primetime televised address from the Oval Office? Is he so impossible - unable to read speeches prepared from a teleprompter?
Who runs this country?
That, really, is the only question that matters.
Yet in this standard, entirely self-aggrandizing letter, in which Biden claims to have accomplished what FDR did with the American economy and claims to have left the country in better shape than he found it—“America has never been better positioned to lead than today" - he says he will serve out the rest of his term.
Yes, Biden's focus — something he has 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. hope for — is now "fulfilling my duties as president" through January.
Read this, my friends, in a hoarse Joe Biden whisper: He can't do it.

And shame on the Democrats if they try to keep Joe in the Oval Office. He doesn't have to be there another day. Who among the White House media will finally stand up to this corrupt administration?
It won't be the helpful idiots in the liberal media like Van Jones, who went on CNN Sunday afternoon to talk about the "honor" of Biden who backed out.
The New York Times opinion columns have probably been in the works for weeks now:
"Biden made a bold choice."
"What Joe Biden just did is absolutely extraordinary."
"The Scale and Impact of Biden's Sacrifice".
Obama, Biden's personal Brute: a "patriot of the highest caliber."
This was never about Joe Biden. No one cares if his feelings are hurt. This is about the security of this country, which Biden - in his megalomania and greed - has compromised.
So please: spare us.
At the end of this shameful letter, Biden scornfully tells us that "we just have to remember that we are the United States of America."
We know, Joe. We know.
"Remember" is quite a choice of words. Bottom line: the only person who needs to remember that, yes, we are America, a democracy that elects our leaders, not shadow governments, is President — gasp — Biden. / Daily Mail
