FBI Director Kash Patel stated this morning that the bureau will work with other local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service, to discuss lessons learned from Saturday's incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
"This was an issue that needed to be looked at carefully, because it almost took the lives of dozens, if not hundreds of people... except for the quick response of our law enforcement. And we're going to talk about how to improve security, not just for this event, but for all future events. We're going to learn from this event," Patel said on "Fox and Friends."
Patel declined to answer specific questions about the gunman, who is accused of speeding through a security checkpoint during a dinner party. He is expected to appear in court today, where he is expected to be remanded in custody.
