German intelligence gives the alarm: Within 2026 we may have a war between NATO
Russia-NATO war

Doubts are increasing that after a few years Russia may turn into a real threat to NATO... .

A classified German intelligence report shows Russia's possible military intentions towards NATO in the coming years, starting in 2026.

The analysis suggests that Russia is preparing for a full-scale conflict with the West, indicated by the reorganization of its military, troop movements and missile deployments in the western part of the country.

According to information from Business Insider, " the analysis of the German intelligence services is currently circulating in the German government. According to this, a significant intensification of Russian weapons production is observed, which could lead to the doubling of Russia's military power in the next five years compared to today, especially in conventional weapons .

This projection has led to the conclusion that an attack on at least part of NATO territory, such as the Baltic countries or Finland, can no longer be "ruled out" starting in 2026.

The report, which has not yet been made public by the German services, has also attracted the attention of the NATO headquarters. While there are concerns about Russia's growing military capabilities, NATO officials believe this should not necessarily lead to war. A US intelligence assessment cited by Business Insider suggests that it could take Russia five to eight years to restore the military strength it had before the invasion of Ukraine.

Russia's preparations for confrontation with NATO

Recently, various Western officials have warned of a Russian military threat to NATO's eastern flank, saying Russia will not stop in Ukraine and urging Europe to strengthen its defenses.

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the Alliance must prepare for a possible decades-long confrontation with Russia.

In December 2023, the Chief of Staff of the Belgian Army, Ad. Michel Hofman warned that Russia's belligerent language and transition to a war footing suggest the possibility of opening new fronts against Moldova or the Baltic states, calling on Europe to urgently strengthen military preparedness.

In January 2024, Norway's top commander, General Eirik Kristoffersen, warned that there is 1-3 years for a secure defense.

In the same month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he believes victory over Russia in its war against Ukraine can be achieved once every NATO member country is fully committed to ending the war, as to be their battle.

Major General Veiko-Vello Palm, commander of Estonia's ground forces, said Russia was considered the only existential threat and many NATO armies were unprepared to fight it, despite efforts to revitalize Europe's military capacity since 2014. when Russia first invaded Ukraine. /Adapted "Pamphlet" from "EuroMiadan"
