The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell said that the entry into force of visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo is a historic decision of the EU.
In the social network X, he writes that this brings important benefits for both Kosovo and the EU.
"A historic EU decision comes into force. From today, citizens of Kosovo can travel to the EU without visas. This brings important benefits for both Kosovo and the EU. The entire Western Balkans is already connected to the Schengen area through visa liberalization," said Borell.
At the International Airport of Pristina "Adem Jashari", the first trip of 50 citizens who won the trip to Vienna as part of an information campaign of the authorities regarding the liberalization of visas was organized today.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that for years citizens were deprived of the right to move without visas in the Schengen zone.
