World leaders have strongly condemned the assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

The head of the Christian Democratic Party (KDH) Milan Majersky said that this is an attack on the Slovak state and sovereignty, as he added that we cannot tolerate such attacks on anyone.

Milan Majersky strongly condemned the attack and wished Prime Minister Robert Fico a speedy recovery. The head of the KDH also called for the authorities to condemn the aggressor, violence and such attacks on politicians.

"We are horrified by the attack on the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic. We cannot tolerate such actions against anyone in a civilized society. We must all unite against any manifestation of violence. We strongly condemn aggression, violence and attacks on politicians, as well as other public officials ", he said.

Regarding the event, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala also reacted, who said that we are shocked by the serious event. In a reaction on social networks, he writes that violence cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

"The news about the injury of the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is shocking. I wish the Prime Minister a speedy recovery. We should not tolerate violence, it should not have a place in society", writes Fiala.

In a post he made on social networks, Von der Leyen also condemns the attack on Ficom as he adds that such acts have no place in our society. Von der Leyen also expressed support for the Slovak prime minister and his family.

"I strongly condemn the despicable attack on Prime Minister Robert Fico. Such acts of violence have no place in our society and undermine democracy, our most precious common good", she says.

While in her reaction to the serious event, the president of Slovakia Zuzana Caputova said that she was shocked by the "brutal and merciless" attack on the prime minister and wished him a speedy recovery. 

Fico was shot in Handlova this morning after the exit meeting of the government. He was shot in the stomach and head, while the media reports that the aggressor has been arrested. The causes of the attack and the condition of the Slovak prime minister are still unknown.
