US-Russia "War" on Victory Day, Moscow Responds to Trump with...

Moscow gave its own response to US President Donald Trump, who stated earlier today that the United States allegedly did more to win World War II than any other country.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova recalled that the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin Roosevelt, recognized the decisive role of the USSR in the victory over Nazism. She cited a number of statements by the politician, including a fragment of a radio speech on April 28, 1942.

"Russian troops have destroyed - and continue to destroy - more manpower, aircraft, tanks and artillery of our common enemy than all other United Nations combined," the diplomat reportedly said on her Telegram channel.

Maria Zakharova cited as an example a congratulatory telegram from Franklin Roosevelt on the occasion of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. In it, the US President noted the extraordinary heroism of the Soviet people, which would serve as an example for all allies.

In addition, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry cited a letter to Joseph Stalin dated February 22, 1943. In it, Franklin Roosevelt noted that the Red Army forced Hitler to pursue the path to final defeat.
