A serious incident has occurred at Antalya Airport.
Moments of panic have gripped passengers at Antalya airport in Turkey when a Turkish Airlines plane made an emergency landing due to a fire in the landing gear.
Passengers were evacuated from the plane via emergency slides and ran in terror along the runway.
Flight TK243 departed Istanbul at 17:25, but shortly before takeoff, smoke was seen rising from the Boeing 777-300ER's landing gear as the plane was moving.
Initial information indicates a serious hydraulic failure, which forced the pilot to turn around and land immediately in Antalya.
Passengers, visibly terrified, used emergency slides to evacuate the plane. All 247 passengers and 13 crew members were safely evacuated, and the plane was later towed to a safe area of the airport.
Turkish Airlines has not yet issued an official statement, while a full investigation into the causes of the incident is underway.
