Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has made some strong statements from Washington, after the NATO Summit for North Macedonia.
In the press conference he gave after the NATO summit in Washington, the Greek prime minister was asked by journalists about his North Macedonian counterpart, regarding the non-respect of the Prespa agreement on the use of the constitutional name within his country. .
'We will not reveal our weapons if Mitskoski continues to simply call Macedonia his country within the borders. I have informed my colleagues", he said, about the fact that the Prime Minister of North Macedonia has chosen not to implement a crucial article of the Agreement regarding the unified name of the neighboring state inside and outside the country, and to call it simply "Republic of Macedonia "within the borders, something that is expressly prohibited by the Agreement," he said.
Of course, I want to emphasize that in the hall and in the presence of all the leaders of NATO, he did not follow this tactic and used the constitutional name of his country", declared Mitsotakis.
"Beyond that, I believe that one way or another the leadership of the neighboring country will understand that this tactic is completely counterproductive. Agreements must be respected. It is something that I emphasized yesterday at the NATO summit and that I think all our allies also understand.
We want North Macedonia to take steps towards a European approach. However, this presupposes respect for international law and respect for the agreements that the country has signed. I believe that one way or another this is something that the leadership of Skopje will understand.
In any case, Greece will not reveal at this moment the weapons it has at its disposal to respond to a possible persistence of the neighboring country's leadership in this tactic", he emphasized.
