US President Donald Trump accused China, North Korea and Russia of conspiring against the US. Trump's reaction came as a military parade was being held in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II.
Trump wrote on Truth Social a message to President Xi: "Give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as they plot against the United States of America."
China held a military parade with thousands of soldiers. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin attended the event. It was the first time Putin, Kim and Xi appeared together in public.
Thousands of soldiers, tanks and missiles were displayed in an hour, as President and Party leader Xi Jinping inspected the display, which featured more than 10,000 soldiers, hundreds of vehicles and aircraft. Xi called for peace and warned of new dangers. "Today, humanity is once again faced with the choice between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, win-win and zero-sum," he said, according to AFP. The propaganda display took place in the center of the capital.
