Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack on the US Al-Azraq air base, also known as Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, in Jordan, calling it part of a retaliatory operation against the US.
According to the IRGC statement, the Iranian air force struck the base, destroying shelters housing US F-15, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as several strategic drones. The IRGC claims that “a significant part” of US military operations against Iran were launched from Jordanian territory.
The statement emphasizes that Jordan must end the presence of US forces in its country and not allow its territory to be used as a "launch point" for attacks in the Middle East region.
The IRGC warned that it is ready for a “decisive and devastating” response to any further US aggression. According to Iranian sources, this attack comes in response to recent US attacks in the region, including strikes near the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said it has also targeted US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain and bases in Kuwait.
