Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused protesters whose family members are being held hostage by the Palestinian militant group Hamas of helping the Palestinian militant group.
Netanyahu emphasized that the goal of the Israeli government is to eliminate Hamas and that the war against Hamas will not end until this goal is achieved.
"I understand that it is impossible to control one's emotions. However, the protests do not help and they only make Hamas's demands tougher and prolong the results we all want ," the Israeli leader said at a press conference in Tel Aviv.
The families of the hostages responded, telling him that he was an elected official whose job it was to right wrongs.
"There are those among us who doubt our abilities, but they are a minority ," he said.
Netanyahu believes that the investigation into Hamas attacks should be done only after the war is over and not in the middle of the war.
