The launch of the Wagner group's insurrection has brought much speculation about Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is said to have escaped from Moscow.
According to some reports, the Russian presidential plane left Moscow at 14:16 local time. It is learned that the plane took off from Moscow's Vnukovo Airport and then headed to the north-west of the country, to one called Tver, about 180 km from the capital.
According to data from the FlightRadar tracking site, the plane reached the Tver area, where Putin has a luxury villa, and then disappeared from the system.
It has not been possible to confirm whether Putin was on the plane, while Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the TASS news agency that the president "is working in the Kremlin". The situation is still not clear, but if Putin has left Moscow, it means that he is afraid of the power of the "Wagner" group.
