Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reacted after the meeting he held at the Vatican with US President Donald Trump, which he said could be historic if the war, a topic they discussed, is ended.
"Good meeting. Face to face, we managed to discuss many things. We hope for a result from everything that was discussed," Zelensky wrote in one of his posts.
He said the topics of discussion included “the protection of the lives of our people, a complete and unconditional ceasefire, and a credible and lasting peace that will prevent the recurrence of war.”
Zelensky also had a message for the late Pope, which became the reason for this meeting with Trump.
"Farewell to Pope Francis, he united people in every part of the world," he said.
