Another tragedy happened on the coast of Spain, where at least 4 migrants lost their lives. According to preliminary data, the boatmen who were transporting them threw them in the middle of the sea, near Cadiz.
The boat was carrying a total of 27 migrants, 23 of whom escaped, Reuters reports.
The media write that a speedboat arrived near the Spanish coast and, fearing that it would be spotted by the police, its driver forced the migrants to jump into the sea.
This turned out to be fatal for some of them who could not get ashore, as their identity has not yet been revealed.
"We saw a boat arrive, but they weren't trafficking drugs, but migrants. Suddenly, some of them started jumping off the boat. There are even images showing one of the traffickers pointing a gun at a migrant, as if to say " You jump, or I shoot you," eyewitness Javier Gonzalez told the local TV station.
He said people on the beach ran to help them, but the boat sped away.
