
Following the tragedy that left 59 people dead and over 150 injured in a nightclub in North Macedonia, an on-site inspection of all entities registered as cabarets, discos or nightclubs has begun today. Authorities will provide more detailed information regarding the situation.
Local media report that the inspections were announced yesterday by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski after a coordination meeting with the director of the State Market Inspectorate Vlatko Stojkoski and the Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi. During the meeting, the procedures undertaken by the competent institutions so far and the extensive analysis of all entities registered as cabarets, nightclubs, or discos were discussed.
Prime Minister Mickoski said that he will launch a strong action to check all documents in hotel facilities, following the deadly fire in a discotheque in Kocani, where so far 59 people have lost their lives and 155 others have been injured.
