Donald Trump said he plans to patrol the streets of Washington tonight (08/21), accompanied by police and the military, following the deployment of National Guard troops to the capital last week.

"I'm going to go out tonight, I think, with the police and the military, of course," the US president told Newsmax journalist Todd Starnes.

Details of the president's plans are awaited, according to a White House official. Trump has already mobilized thousands of National Guard troops and federal agents, citing a "crime wave" in the capital.
