The death of four American soldiers, whose tracks were lost during training in Lithuania, was confirmed by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during his visit to Warsaw.
"As I was speaking, we learned about four American soldiers who were killed in an incident in Lithuania," Rutte told reporters, Reuters reported, adding that he did not know further details.
The US Embassy in Vilnius has announced their disappearance during the training.
"The soldiers went missing at a training area near Padrante in eastern Lithuania, close to the border with Belarus," the embassy announced on the social media platform X.
The soldiers, all from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, were participating in scheduled tactical training at the time of the incident.
