A spokeswoman for the humanitarian organization CARE has described the inhumane conditions in which civilians are living in Gaza, including her uncle. Hiba Tibi, the country director for the West Bank, said his uncle is among those seeking shelter near Shifa hospital in the north to receive medical treatment, stressing that lack of food is one of the biggest problems.
" This week, they went to get food, but they could only find a few cucumbers and lemons to feed 13 people. Cucumbers cost eight times more than they used to, " said Tibi, reports Sky News.
Tibi said conditions in northern Gaza are now "unbearable" and it is "almost impossible" to find food and water.
Although Gazans have been told by Israeli authorities to move south, Tibi said the journey is "extremely dangerous and difficult" and "many of those who have made it have experienced and witnessed terrible suffering.
She called for an urgent ceasefire so that civilians can access food, water and medical supplies.
