Ekrem Imamoglu, the mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and expected to be the CHP's presidential candidate, who had his university degree revoked on Tuesday evening, was detained this morning by hundreds of police officers who descended on his home.
Meanwhile, through lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan, Imamoglu addressed his supporters with a message. The Istanbul Mayor expressed his conviction that we will emerge even stronger from this process, referring to the opposition in this way.
"My morale is very good, I hope everyone's morale is good too. We will emerge stronger from this process. Nothing is more important than the will and wisdom of the nation. The will of the nation is greater than one person," writes the mayor of Istanbul.
