The American mystery series "The Simpsons" seems to have failed for the first time in its predictions for the future after Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump in the November 5 presidential election.
In the series' 11th season episode, titled "Bart in the Future" that first aired in 2000, it appeared to predict Harris' election victory.
During the episode, the character Lisa wearing a purple suit is elected President in the future. In 2021, the video went viral as Harris became the first female vice president of the United States as President Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
At the time, it was noted all over the web that Harris had chosen an outfit similar to Lisa's when she took her vows: a purple jacket with earrings and a pearl necklace.
In July 2024, show creator Al Jean posted some photos of Lisa and Kamala Harris and wrote: "The Simpsons preview I'm proud to be a part of."
However, this time their prediction did not come out and many commentators expressed that sometimes it happens that even the best forecasters can be wrong.
