Tomorrow, two court hearings will take place, which will somewhat seal the fate of Meta and Berisha!
Justice will face another test tomorrow, as far as the battle with politics is concerned. Although they voted for it with 140 votes, today they have all thrown themselves at the throat of justice and are doing everything possible to prevent it from advancing further.
Undoubtedly, the two names that have declared enemies of the new justice are Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, both under security measures: one under house arrest and the other under prison arrest.
But tomorrow two sessions will take place, which will somewhat seal the fate of both. Berisha has been under house arrest for almost 1 year and has exhausted all levels of the judiciary, complaining about his measure. So far, he has not managed to ease the positions and has gone to the last level, the Constitutional Court. Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. the hearing will be held in his charge.
In the appeal, Berisha requests: " The annulment of decisions no. 112, dated 20.10.2023 and no. 117, dated 26.10.2023, of the First Instance Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime; no. 56 (87-2023-156), dated 21.11.2023 of the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime; no. 00-2024-384, dated 05.03.2024 of the Criminal College of the Supreme Court ".
Also, a few days ago, the removal of member Marsida Xhaferllari from the judicial body was requested, since according to Berisha, she is the cohabitant of MP Enkelejd Alibeaj, declared an enemy by Berisha. But the request was rejected.
Tomorrow we will have a meeting between the lawyers of Berisha and SPAK and we have to see what the decision of the Constitutional Court will be. This decision is the last step and after that Saliu will have to wait from the balcony for every action of SPAK. His only right now is to go to Strasbourg. What Berisha did not say about the members of the Constitutional Court, threatening the president of the court several times. Tomorrow the court will be tested in the face of political pressures.
At the same time as Berisha, the former president, Ilir Meta, will appear in the Court of Special Appeal. Even the latter, like Saliu, wants to change the security measure. It's just that Meta has just started the long road of court battles.
The First Degree left him in "prison detention" and Meta has appealed the decision, asking for a milder measure. Both Berisha and Meta have not said anything about the judiciary and the prosecution.
