Both leaders involved in the debate on immigrants ( British MP Nigel Farage and Edi Rama ) are deeply populist.
The first burdens a country rich in values and high per capita income. While "Ramamania", with its governance and the prominent lack of state-building culture, bypassing and despising other powers such as Parliament and justice, burdens Albanian taxpayers; it burdens Albanians who do not stop abandoning their country, in larger and heavier proportions than in other countries of the Western Balkans.
From the way he speaks and acts, Edi Rama seems to continue to confuse the state with himself.
His latest response to an issue as legal as it is humane, the return of Albanian prisoners from English prisons, is not only legally incorrect, but completely selfish and harmful to the country.
Albania has no legal obligation to accept Albanians detained in third countries into its territory, much less to do so with political arrogance.
Within the framework of visa liberalization and free movement agreements, Albania, like every other Western Balkan country, has obligations related only to the return of illegal immigrants who enter the EU through the Albanian border, and this applies to every foreigner, not just Albanians.
So, when a Pakistani or Afghan crosses into the EU from Albania, every EU country has the right to return them not to their country of origin, but to the border entry point.
All costs remain the responsibility of the country that has allowed or not prohibited illegal immigration.
Albania has a constitutional obligation to demand humane and legal treatment from every country for every Albanian prisoner anywhere in the world. This constitutional obligation must be fulfilled by the Ministry of Justice and the Ombudsman.

Kujtoni rastin e armëve kimike: Vrapoi ta premtonte fshehurazi që të konsiderohej, do vlerësohej dhe dekorohej si lider i zgjidhjes së krizave globale për të huajt, por lider toksik për shqiptarët.
Kujtojmë rastin e muxhahedinëve: Shqipëria u angazhua të pranojë një numër të kufizuar personash, rreth 300 prej tyre, në kuadër të një marrëveshjeje humanitare.
Por "Ramamania" i mori të gjithë, rreth 3500 veta, pa asnjë konsultim me Këshillin e Sigurimit Kombëtar.
E përdori këtë marrëveshje për të vetëshkëlqyer si lider “kriza-zgjidhës” në nivel global, ndërkohë që prodhoi dhe acaroi krizë në vendin e tij.
Nga ky vendim egoist, Shqipëria u kthye në një vend të ekspozuar ndaj sulmeve kibernetike të sponsorizuara nga shtete të huaja, përfshirë Iranin.
Siguria kombëtare u cenua dhe institucionet shqiptare u gjunjëzuan përballë ndërhyrjeve që prekën të dhëna personale, databaza qeveritare dhe rrjete të institucioneve të drejtësisë dhe rendit.
Po kështu, "Ramamania" veproi edhe kur iu kërkua që Shqipëria të rrisë shpenzimet për mbrojtjen në 5% të PBB-së, një propozim i papërballueshëm për një vend të varfër si i yni.
Në vend që të mbronte interesat kombëtare, siç bëri kryeministri socialist spanjoll, dhe të argumentonte me dinjitet, ai i shmangu debatet reale, duke shitur “besnikëri” në kurriz të përkeqësimit të investimeve për arsimin, shëndetësinë, kohezionin dhe solidaritetin social në vendin më të varfër jo vetëm të BE-së, por edhe të Ballkanit Perëndimor.
Në këtë klimë keqqeverisjeje dhe propagande, njoftimi se samiti i NATO-s 2027 do të mbahet në Tiranë vjen si një tjetër flluskë imazhi.
Por ky propozim nga vetë "Naltëmadhënia" e tij duhet të shoqërohet me disa pyetje serioze:
Sa do të kushtojë ky samit?
Kush do ta financojë?
A është ky një privilegj apo një faturë e rëndë që nuk e donin vendet e tjera dhe për këtë arsye na e lanë neve?
Vetëm për ilustrim, samiti i NATO-s në Hagë ka kushtuar mbi 106 milionë euro. Nëse pjesa më e madhe e kostos bie mbi buxhetin e Shqipërisë, pra mbi taksapaguesit e varfër shqiptarë, të cilët në jo pak zona dhe grupe sociale vuajnë mungesën e ujit, dritave dhe varfërohen nga inflacioni ushqimor i lartë, atëherë samiti i NATO-s në vitin 2027 nuk duhet t’i bëhet barrë e rëndë të varfërve shqiptarë.
Shqipëria nuk ka luksin të organizojë aktivitete ndërkombëtare me kosto kaq të larta, kur mbi 30% e popullsisë jeton në varfëri ekstreme dhe pjesa tjetër në pasiguri ekonomike. Shqipëria nuk bëhet europiane me samite.
Nuk bëhet as me fjalime të zhurmshme, as me skenografi që synon të fshehë keqqeverisjen e vendit; e cila aktualisht përputhet me “Mbretëritë kryeministrore”, ku gjithë pushtetet i kanë vetëm Sulltanët e kohëve moderne.
Albania and Albanians will be truly European by the level of democratic freedoms, independence and the quality of the separation, balance and control between the three powers; the quality of functional institutions, equality before justice and equality of opportunity for all Albanians, and not just for the oligarchs, the courtiers and "pears-eating" behind the institutional backs and in front of physical eyes.
Today, more than ever, we need full transparency on the costs and sources of funding of all international summits held or planned in Albania.
Citizens have the right to know: did we win the right to host the NATO summit through competition, or was it simply an "open door" that the wealthier countries chose not to pass through?
Albania is not "Rama-Sultanat".
Albania needs leaders who serve the country, not who use it as a stage for self-glorification.
