The Economic Sentiment Indicator marked a decline of 0.8 points in August, but despite this, it remains 8 points above the historical average.
The decline came mainly from decreased confidence in industry, construction and services, while trade has recorded strong growth.
"This indicates a slight slowdown in the pace of optimism in the economy, influenced by the gloomy expectations of businesses, especially in industry and services, but we still remain above the historical average," said Selami Xhepa, an economic expert.
Consumer confidence has also suffered a slight decline, reflecting uncertainty about the economic and financial situation of households.
In contrast, the trade sector continues to grow, thanks to more positive expectations for employment and sales.
"The figures show that trade is maintaining a solid performance, helped by domestic consumers and tourists, but challenges remain in the manufacturing and construction sectors, affected by high costs and expectations of slowing demand," Xhepa added.
Experts emphasize that policies that promote investment and increase productivity are needed to maintain the positive performance of the economy in the coming months.
