INSTAT has published salary statistics for the second quarter of 2024.
The average gross salary in the country reached the level of ALL 75,114, increasing by 5.9% compared to the same quarter last year. The indicator is mostly influenced by sectors such as financial and insurance activities, and information and communication, which speaks of a different reflection of the economy's sectors.
"It is understood that some sectors of the economy of the labor market and the economy in general have reflected in terms of increasing the salary level for their employees," says expert Erion Muça.
For Muça, the differences between indicators in different sectors of the economy are also a result of the presence of informality.
In recent years, a difference is being created between the public and private sectors.
"In the public sector, between several consecutive steps of salary increases according to sectors, the differences are now even more apparent. It is a difference attributed to the under-declaration of salaries or incomplete declaration in the private sector," says Muça.
According to the data, the average gross salary in agriculture and fishing is at the level of ALL 50,134, well below the average level, while the most sought-after and paid professions in the labor market are company managers, legislators and senior civil servants of the state administration.
