Next year, the State Budget will exceed the figure of 8 billion lek, the highest level in the country's history. It will be about 4 percent higher than this year's budget and increased by more than 20 percent compared to that of 2022.
The fund that will be distributed to the institutions next year is being drawn up, to pass to the parliamentary committees in the middle of November.
"From year to year we have an increase in the available budget. It is about an additional fund in the amount of about 300 million euros. This becomes necessary at this stage that development is looking for" , said Selim Blliku, expert on the economy.
Next year's budget is expected to be mainly oriented towards investments in road and railway infrastructure and military defense. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection is the institution that will receive the largest part of the "cake" of the budget, almost 10 percent, followed by Infrastructure and Energy, Culture, Economy and Innovation and Education and Sports. Budgetary support will also increase for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Defense.
" What stands out is the fact that "social protection" continues to receive little support. In the last decade, the state budget expanded by about 70 percent, mainly from taxes on the middle class, but its redistribution has not gone in proportion to the growth of this class and the protection of the poor" , adds Blliku.
In addition to social protection, next year's budget also foresees limited resources in terms of investments in education. Most of the money is planned to go to the increase of teachers' salaries and less to the construction of nurseries, kindergartens or schools.
" Budgetary resources have aimed to improve the infrastructure of the country, without helping in educational reforms that would orient the economy towards a new model with higher profits ", declares the expert.
The budget for next year goes in relation to the Gross Domestic Product, which is expected to reach the figure of over 2.5 trillion lek./ A2CNN
