When in 1991 the crowd toppled Enver Hoxha's monument in Tirana, Albania was more than a year behind the fall of the Berlin Wall and the event did not cause any sensation in Europe. We were a small country self-imposed into the hibernation of isolation, and as such, it was no surprise.
However, the party that was born from the putrification of the system, the Democratic Party, had in its composition prominent figures in their fields and as such, at least in appearance, competed worthily with its former communist opponents, who inherited the vast majority of the baggage intellectual system.

To counter the blow, Berisha formed Refoundation, but the creature was already out of breath. The artists, economists, doctors, writers, poets, engineers, historians who once founded it were no more and those who replaced them are caricature and grotesque figures.
It is enough to compare that the former RD, where the best Albanian pens wrote, has been replaced by a portal that smells of unwashed socks, to understand how the Albanian opposition has degraded.
And while the witch has this flour, it is known what bread will come out:
February 20, 2024 will be nothing but a caricature of that of 1991. Azem Hajdari has been replaced by Gaz Bardhi, just like Sali Berisha who once screamed in front of the crowds that filled the square, is nothing but a caricature of himself, with vocabulary obsolete and surrounded by old men or middle-aged men who neither know where to go nor what to do but gather in an alley with the hope that a place will be found for them in the next Assembly on the list of the Pulpit. The story unfolds twice: Once as a tragedy and once as a comedy. This time, February 20, it's comedy's turn.
