And yet it is only the beginning of a process that seems logically impossible to track down, identify and seize any dirty money, which has not so gradually created a Siamese layer of millionaires: one twin with a political tie and the other with a gangster's passport. This is a process that can have its ups and downs, it can also have surprising returns after, it can even fail to finally turn Albania into a country with a failed democracy, but with many chances, regardless of the cost, it can even to move forward.
The popular conviction that haram never becomes halal, faces a Herculean challenge to prove it in the Albania of the near future. In a morally corrupt society that recognizes only money as a god and that only recognizes money as the asset that buys skill, this challenge is almost impossible. Skeptics may reckon that small local sinners may have suffered from each other or even God himself, but not that they have been punished by justice.
