The only certain thing we know today is the absolute fact that man is mortal.
The world does not change, and we seem to change it. No. The world cannot change from us through the human mind. The world, like the universe, is built by forces that we cannot recognize. Therefore, we only ascertain them. All findings are: even planets and galaxies, but finding is not creation.
Creation is construction. And life goes on, and we pass through generations. And nothing new: the stars are them, the moon is that, the sun is the one that created this small solar system, but our mind keeps us in time. It keeps us with fantasy, but also concretely, while human life cannot be directed by us.
And we are defeated in space, because we are too small to reach it in its essence, but our life goes on, and our fantasy is satisfied by the art, the science that we have created and the word that has given us thought, communication, ideas and poetry .
Well, we have acquired the word, and, in relation to thought, it has created for us science and poetry, poetry drives our imagination into space, and poetically it seems to us that we have conquered everything. In fact, we still haven't conquered anything.
And our life, for this very fact, belies our fancy: but we clearly see that we are still under the rule of ignorant individuals; and we walk with the hope of poetry: they kill us, throw us into wars, and we still hope that we will ascend to the heights of the galaxies, and for comfort we have created the concept of God, and, after it, also the belief in him as consolation.
And here, the absolute majority of humanity prays to God... Because they are afraid, because it is those mystical forces of the universe that frighten us with fear, and we protect ourselves in abstraction with the strength of God. But life requires more guarantees.
But will science in its permanent development provide this security that humanity is looking for? No. Because it cannot remove death. Well, the fear of the majesty of the endless space cannot leave man, because man knows that he will die. Well, knowing this, why does he need the wars, the murders, the terrible bombs that cause mass deaths?!!!
Because humanity is still in a small primitive mind, and very small to nothing compared to the universe. But will man achieve universal thought to keep up with the pace of infinite space? No. Because our mind is limited. This is enough to remind us that we will always be like this: a "smallness before the infinite space", and therefore man will always be haunted by the fear of death.
What about eternity?
Ah, it would certainly change everything I wrote above... But will man ever achieve eternity? We cannot say for today. The only certain thing we know today is the absolute fact that man is mortal. But, ama, this fact has created everything in our life. And therefore man always thinks primarily and constantly about the relationship between life and death.
However, this report is both an individual report and a report for all life on earth. Because death defeats life, and the human mind, unlike animals, knows this and therefore imposes on man the fear of death, and fear itself as a universal phenomenon. Here, this fact has been grasped by the human mind, but it has nothing to do with eternity, but so far it has only to do with the fear of death.
