For the 52nd consecutive day, citizens gathered again in Tirana to protest against the government, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the removal of the government cabinet.
As in previous protests, participants gathered at Skanderbeg Square and marched towards the Prime Minister's Office, where they delivered speeches and repeated calls against the government and the entire political class.
Afterwards, they continued the march through the streets of the capital, chanting slogans such as: "Edi Rama, resign", "Down with the patronage", "Illiterate Parliament", "Albania seeks revolution", "Resignation", "Rama out, Berisha out", "Albania of Albanians, not of those in power", "Edi Rama, you bastard, all of Albania hates you", "Without youth, there is no Albania", "Rama, SPAK You" and "Albania is not for sale".
The organizers have announced that the protests will continue in the coming days, emphasizing that their demand remains unchanged: the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The civic movement began as a reaction against the 4 billion euro investment project in the Zvërnec area. Over the days, the protesters have expanded their cause, articulating five main demands to the government.
Specifically, they demand: the resignation of the government; the repeal of the law on the status of strategic investors; the repeal of the "Mountain Package"; the annulment of the changes to the law on protected areas; and the annulment of the changes to the law on cultural heritage.
