Four decades have passed. The communist system has collapsed, the monuments have been removed, and the history books have been changed. Only the desire to give the leader his days remains the same as before...
“Comrade Enver, take some of my days!”, said the Albanian not more than 40 years ago. Comrade Enver did not really take those days, but he took away many years, many freedoms and the right to think differently from the Albanians. However, the man who said this sentence felt proud. He was ready to forgive the leader even his life, although the leader did not ask much about the life of a person.
Four decades have passed. The communist system has collapsed, monuments have been removed, and history books have been changed. Only the desire to give the leader his days remains the same as before.
Someone wrote on social media today that they wish Edi Rama a long life. Another declared that he loves Sali Berisha more than his own father. One wishes the prime minister a long life, the other gives the opposition leader his father's place.
These statements may seem ridiculous, but they indicate a serious problem for a part of Albanian society. After 35 years of pluralism, a part of citizens continues to see the politician not as a temporary employee of the state. They see him as the owner of the party, the protector of the family, the savior of the country and, when enthusiasm grows, even as the most important member of the house.
In a democracy, the citizen elects a politician to govern the country for a certain period. He controls him, criticizes him, and removes him when he fails. In the Albanian model, the militant elects the president, and then the president chooses what the militant should think.
When the mayor changes his stance, so does the supporter. When the mayor attacks someone, he attacks them without wasting time. When the mayor agrees with the same person, the militant agrees just as quickly. There is no need for explanations. When the mayor says that the protest was funded by Iran, the militant does not ask for the facts; when the mayor changes his mind and says that the protest was organized by neighbors jealous of progress, the militant supplements his opinion with arguments found on the Internet. When the mayor says that in the early days, those days when Iran funded the protest, it was beautiful, but now it is no longer, the militant has no doubt about it. The mayor has thought of everything.
In 1914, supporters of the restoration of Ottoman rule shouted “We want Baba.” By “Baba” they meant the sultan. For this reason, they were called dumbabists. The term belongs to a specific historical period, but the mentality it describes did not remain in 1914.
The modern dumbass is closely spiritually connected to the sultan of the party, although the latter does not even know of his existence. The modern dumbass may accept that the state is corrupt, the economy is in trouble, the youth are leaving, and the institutions are not functioning. But as soon as the responsibility of his leader is mentioned, the analysis ends. That is where the love begins.
The Tirana protest has broken the peace of "Baba" and therefore the dumbabists have come out on stage in large numbers. They do not see that the protest is directed against the political model built by the two major parties, the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, who have been identified for years with Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. One controls the power, the other controls most of the opposition. Both continue to treat politics as if Albania has not produced other people during these decades.
The Dumbabists are worried, but also a little confused. The protest simultaneously attacks the government and the traditional opposition. It does not only demand the departure of Rama so that Berisha can return. It does not even demand the departure of Berisha so that Rama can continue peacefully. It opposes a system that has kept Albanians bound by two names, two parties and the same political agreements.
The Dumbabists do not accept this logic. The socialist Dumbabist agrees that Berisha should leave, but only on condition that Rama stays as long as possible. The democratic Dumbabist agrees that Rama should leave, but only if Berisha returns to power. For them, changing the system is a good idea, provided that it does not affect their sultan.
This behavior is not only the result of fanaticism. It is also produced by the way in which parties have controlled economic and social life. For many people, a party is not just a political belief. It is a place of work, a tender, a permit, an appointment, a promotion or protection from the law.
When bread depends on the president, free thought becomes a luxury. When work depends on the party, the citizen understands that political love is safer than criticism. This is how the cult of the individual is built in Albanian pluralism. Parties have statutes, leaders, councils and congresses. They have so many structures that it can seem that decisions are made by hundreds of people. In the end, one person decides. The others vote to prove that they agree.
In this system, the deputy is not accountable to the citizen, but to the mayor. The minister does not need to be successful; he must be loyal. The militant does not need to understand the decision; he must defend it. The analyst does not need to analyze; he must find the reason why the mayor is always right.
The youth protest opposes this model. It demands a system where politicians are replaceable, parties have internal democracy, and citizens are not treated as lifelong fans. This demand is dangerous for those who have built their careers and well-being on obedience to “Baba” and is unacceptable to the dumbabists.
That's why people in power, opposition beneficiaries, propagandists and fanatics from both sides have risen up against the protest. Some attack it because it endangers their interests. Some because they don't understand it. Some because they can't imagine Albania without the leader they have adored for years.
The Dumbabists of 1914 were looking for "Dad". The Dumbabists of the dictatorship donated their days to Comrade Enver. Today's Dumbabists, divided into two groups, debate which leader deserves more love, more life and less responsibility. Meanwhile, the protest tries to liberate them too with the message: Keep the days of life to yourself. It is enough to give politicians a mandate. When they don't deserve it, take that too!

Jo po e kane fajin romaket, jo po bizantinet, jo po sllavet, jo po ottomanet, jo po greke e jugosllave, jo po feja, jo po komunizmi, jo po ish komunistet e nuk mbaron lista. Te gjithe sa permenda mesiper bene deme e paten shumicen e Shqiptareve bythelepires te tyre. Do i leme te shkuarat e te merremi me te sotmen se i kemi punet keq si kom e si shtet? A e kuptoni se sa injorance kemi trasheguar nga e kaluara, duke filluar qe te "akademistet", njerezit latyra ne pushtet, rritja e nje brezi, injorant pa gradim te sakte nga universitetet palaco, pa piken e dashurise e respektit per Atdheun e Shqiptarine. Te gjitha keto pasoja te sotme vertet vijne nga e shkuara e shumengjyreshe e hidhur qe sot ngre koken fitimtare mbi Shqiptaret. Ne se kohen e komunizmit do e quanim kolere e fatkeqesi, po feja qelbesire qe na u fut nga pushtuesit? Si ka mundesi qe vajzat me te bukura ne bote Shqiptaret mbajne shami ne koke e jane shpelare nga trute nga ngyresia e njerezimit feja? Kur beme dhjerokracine na u vune kushte nga bushtrat e globit, pluralizmi, feja, hiqni armet e ta ndajme fitimin bashke, na jepni falas toka, troje e ishuj se ju nuk dini e ne dime, etj, etj. Kur ka ardhur sekretari i Shtetit Amerikan ne Tirane ne bulevard ishin vetem 3 flamure amerikane. Nje prej tyre e mbaja vete, qe e bera vete me doren time se nuk kishte asgjekundi. Te gjithe ishin te deshperuar ta kishin nje ne dore por nuk kishte ne ate kohe. Keni regjistrimin nga Televizioni Shqiptar. Sa flamure Amerikane shikon ne protestat e Shqiptareve sot? Pse? Mos jane te bijte e komunisteve qe nuk i mbajne? Nje Cun Tirone, Neri, kur erdhi dhjerokracia ka thene nje llafe ari, do e respektoj cdo perseon te uzines ku punuam kur ta takoj, se na llapte goja pa dogane me njeri tjetrin e nuk hyri njeri ne burg per agjitacion e propagande e politike. Ne te gjithe Shqiperine njerezit flisnin e ishin te pakenaqur. Hej, Shqiptari eshte lindur Shqiponje e do te vdese si Shqiponje. Shqiptari nuk do e duron shtet, gardhe, taksa e ligje, eshte lindur rebel e do vdese rebel. Ne se shpirti e emri i Shqiptarit do shuhet, do te thote qe botes i ka ardhur fundi tragjik.

Lajmi i fundit: Sondazhi i E.Zaloshnjës sikur medemek shqiptarët duan më pak bashki. I bëjmë shqiptarët hapur fare për budallenj. Kush është ai shqiptar me mend në kokë që nuk do të marri shërbim te komuna e fshatit të vete apo te bashkia e qytetit të vet? Kush është ai shqiptar që do të sorrollatet nëpër bashki të rretheve për një shërbim? Ky sonadazh është propagandë "komuniste moderne". Dhe më e forta, te ky shkrim mni sonadazhin, gazeta tema kishte hequr komentet? Pse? Nëse njerëzit paskan votuar hapur s'e kanë problem për një koment. Po jo. Sepse del fallciteti i sondazhit. Dhe çensura është pjesë e propagandës. Në demokraci në fakt propaganda mbështetet te fakti që analistë apo tallall të qeverisë tentojnë të bindin se realiteti nuk është ashtu siç duket, por siç thotë partia, e për këtë angazhohen media, gazetarë, analistë (me sogizma e sondazhe me porosi) për shpëlarje truri. Nuk.jep zgjidhje dhe, nese mendon se Protesta "rrezon " PS dhe PD..gabon. mendoj se nje Proteste duhet te rrembeje zemrat e njerezve jo Urrejtjen ndaj Detashmentit politik...dhe, ne etape te dyte, Krijo Parti politike, sepse keq mire,Shqiperia eshte me institucione...etj

Me ty do shkelqeje Sazani, Zverneci, dhija e keciiiii, Thethi e Valbonaaaa, Me ty do jene te kenaqur Kinezi e Rusi, Ceku e Cifuti, trafikanti e hajdutiiiiiiiii!!! Me ty, sigurisht, si do ti do behet, Shqiperia mund te kthehet edhe ne nje shprehje gjeografike! Me tyja madheri, fitojne te gjithe, vetem ata qe ikin ne arrati dhe pensionistet nuk fitojne, po pune e madhe. Ata qe ikin jane "kalamaj" 25 vjecare e ata pensionistet jane ashtu si i do ti, ne prag te pensionit perjeteshem....Cfare i do? Ndaj dum baben te na rrije ne krye tane jeten e jeteve!!!!
