
Her dream to work as a teacher again was cut short on 11.01.2011, leaving behind indescribable pain.
We all come into life for a purpose, to which we try to devote ourselves, to give meaning to life. But when life is interrupted in the middle, the goal is interrupted and the weight of the pain is many times greater. Premature departure from this life, regardless of the cause, cuts all dreams short. Any one of us who leaves suddenly can cause sadness, leaving behind pain, but can also serve as a source of strength, to inspire others. In recent decades, serious incurable diseases have taken over the globe, cutting the lives of people, many of them women.
Teacher Ismete Proga, one of them, became a source of strength and inspiration, encouraging every woman who had the same fate as her. Ismetja, dedicated professional teacher, loved life, family, students, colleagues, work, people. With its courage and dynamism, it became a symbol of resistance, to enjoy life until the last moment.
Ismete Rustem Jolla was born on July 23, 1958 in the village of Jollë, in a traditional family with many children. He finished primary school in his hometown. Jolla, the most remote village of Pogradec with one of the most difficult road infrastructures, was a serious obstacle to education, but her desire to learn was great. With the support of his family, he attended the 8-year boarding school in Trebinje, where children from remote areas studied.
Although far from parental care, he finished school in 1969 with high results and won the right to continue with a scholarship to the pedagogical high school "Luigj Gurakuqi", Elbasan.
After graduating in 1974, she was appointed a teacher at the 8-year school in her hometown Jolle, where she quickly gained the respect and gratitude of her fellow villagers for her teaching quality and excellent behavior with the community. For a short period he worked at the 8-year school "Shyqyri Dervishi" Bishnica.
In 1981, she married Nazmi Proga (army officer from the village of Homçan) and transferred to the 8-year school "Çeta e Mokre" in Pleshisht. After 6 years of work, in 1987, when the family came to live in the city of Pogradec, she was appointed a teacher at the 8-year-old school "Dëşmorët e Pojskë" in Udënisht.
In 1991, he was appointed to the 8-year-old school "Gjok Shqiptari" in Pogradec, until 2008, when he was unfairly dismissed from his job, under the pretext that he was "with a high school education". Leaving his beloved profession shocked him, but the worst was not over. A few years later he fell ill with an incurable disease. Although she faced it with admirable courage and bravery, her dream of working as a teacher again was cut short on 11.01.2011, leaving behind indescribable pain.
About this difficult moment, her husband, Nazmiu, says:
"When they removed him from his job in an arbitrary and completely political manner, leaving him in the middle of the road, he experienced it extremely badly, because he was so dedicated to his work and students, that he did not expect something like this. In 33 years of work, he gave his soul own to learn as best as possible the students who were entrusted to him. Thanks to the work, high results, he enjoyed the respect and love of the children, parents, colleagues teacher Ismeten. We got along great, we gave birth to two children, Eglantin and Ionida, who we raised and educated, and today they are employees in state institutions. Many children who were educated by her respect me today, they call me Teacher Ismet's uncle Nazmiu passed away on January 11, 2011, due to a serious illness and an arbitrary and completely political dismissal.
Everyone will remember Ismete as a teacher full of passion, tireless, correct, smiling and radiant, who showed love for every student, simple and understanding with her colleagues, ready to fulfill her mission.
