The Ministry of Defense has taken stock of the fire situation in the country, announcing that during this Sunday, 16 fires were managed in several regions of Albania, under the coordination of the National Civil Protection Agency.
According to the official announcement, five outbreaks remain active, but have been brought under control, while teams on the ground are working to isolate and completely extinguish them.
The operations were conducted in the areas of Hajdaraj-Synej in Kavaja, Drizë-Peshtan in Fier, Tale in Lezha, Ula in Elbasan and Divjaka. 261 operational forces, 40 firefighting vehicles, two helicopters, 30 Armed Forces personnel and two firefighting vehicles of the Armed Forces were engaged in the action.
In support of the operation, forces from the State Police, the National Forest Service, the Forest Service, local civil emergency structures, as well as health service teams also participated.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and appeal for maximum caution, while high temperatures and wind remain factors that favor the spread of flames.
