Who is leading the protest, generation Z or level ZH?
Kreshnik Spahiu

We all expected the leader of the flamingos as the face of the next prime minister who would govern Albania, but unfortunately, the beautiful youth of Generation Z was sidelined and replaced by Generation ZH.

Dritëro Agolli once wrote: “The day will come when we will watch the duel between the generations of the sugar-coated piece of bread and the generations called the 'chip generation'.”

If the "Flamingo" revolution had a value different from the partisan ones, it was the civic and youthful face that dominated the protest: 20-year-old girls and boys, uninvolved in politics.

That's why the revolution was called Generation Z, because the average age of the participants did not exceed 30 years.

But why, suddenly, was leadership and representation entrusted to a few individuals so different from the age, education, and upbringing of the crowd?

* Why did 20-year-olds choose 50–60-year-olds?

* Why did graduates in the West choose individuals without high school education?

* Why was perfume replaced by sweat?

* Why was Gandhi's peaceful offer replaced by ideas with "bullets" and Avni Rustemi?

I, unlike some others, think that Dritan Goxhaj is a patriot and a fighter for the national cause, but Generation Z, with its 20-year-olds, cannot be represented by Dritan. It should produce new elites from Western universities and not from the old military school of Albanian communism.

The emergence of many old women at the forefront of the protest contrasts with the beauty of the charming girls and the charming students in the square.

Did the old wolves or the agencies take away the protest?

The protest, within 24 hours, made three moves against the US:

* The election of a spokesperson declared to be anti-American.

* Complaints by some protesters about pressure from the US Embassy.

* The call for protest on July 4, US Independence Day.

In politics, there are no coincidences three times in a day.

In fact, world media such as CNN, BBC, ZDF, RAI, RTL, Reuters, The New York Times, AFP or DW have a similar headline: "Albania, anti-Trump protests."

Don't just read Rama or Balla, but thousands of Western and Eastern newspapers and televisions.

They all treat it as an anti-American protest. Only Albanian media outlets say:

"Rama in prison, Berisha in prison."

But even if foreign media speculate, why don't the protesters make an official clarifying statement: "The protest is not against Trump"? Just as they make clarifying statements about Dritan Goxhaj, they also clarify the anti-American or pro-American discourse.

In fact, there is nothing wrong with being against America, but not with being two-faced: both for and against.

The square is shrinking every day, not from police violence, not from tear gas, not from fire water, but from popular disappointment.

We all expected the leader of the flamingos as the face of the next prime minister who would govern Albania, but unfortunately, the beautiful youth of Generation Z was sidelined and replaced by Generation ZH.

Unfortunately, the people had high hopes, not only for the departure of the Rama-Berisha duo, but also for the arrival of an educated Generation Z. But, unfortunately, everyone will be disappointed, because Rama and Berisha are coming out on top.

Yesterday, surprisingly, in their demands they forgot about Zvërnec, the reason for which they protested.

Don't be surprised if next week they forget Rama or Berisha, just like they forgot Zvërnec.

Perhaps the "chip" generation is losing the battle against the generation that spread sugar on bread.
