Who is to blame?

Today we can ask ourselves, did we gain or lose from changing the system?

Two days ago, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the heart in Bilisht. He was killed by his friend, also 14 years old. They had knives and went to "settle things".

It is true that, after 1990, many, many things changed in Albania, related to family, society, school, and the mentality of every age.

Understandings, misunderstandings, conversations between friends, relatives also changed, people in schools, communes, municipalities changed, the institution of the state changed, just as the way of life changed.

The ways and methods of educating children, high school students, and students changed, the procedure for accepting teachers into schools, professors into universities, and employees into institutions, etc. changed.

And today we can ask ourselves, did we gain or lose from the change of the system? Did we gain or lose from the reform of the educational, health, police, military, political system? I think that in 35 years of system change, we today feel that we have lost many human values, family values, institutional values, values related to the community where we live and work.

Today we have become colder with people, with family members, brother, sister, son or daughter with father and mother, and we have rushed to property, money, forgetting about the schooling and education of children. Today we have more illiterate people than in 1945, for 1001 reasons, such as emigration, economic conditions, blood feuds, etc.

Today we are 10 times more aggressive with family members, relatives, neighbors, friends, comrades, we fight and kill each other over a wall, a fence, property, over a word of mouth. Today we are cruel to those who "look at us", to those who scold us and we are ready to jump on them and kill them.
