The DP leadership boycotts the elections!

Taking a figure from every category of society and putting him in the race for the largest and most important municipality in the country is diabolical...

The leadership of the Democratic Party has decided that in the 6 municipalities where the partial elections will be held on November 9, they will not compete with a name that comes from the ranks of the Democratic Party, but from civil society.

De facto, this decision translates into: The Democratic Party is boycotting the elections.

I am one of those who defend the thesis that the Democratic Party should be open to new figures. Be careful, I'm talking about the Democratic Party.

Taking a figure from every category of society and putting them in the race for the largest and most important municipality in the country is diabolical.

1- With a candidacy outside the ranks of the DP, no party structure will be engaged in the campaign and you practically lose the race at the table.

2- With a candidacy outside the ranks of the DP but from civil society, with a guaranteed defeat, the DP leadership is preparing the post-election argument to maintain the status quo. (You see, the problem is not with the DP leaders. Even with candidacies from civil society, even united, we cannot defeat the regime.) Therefore, even after November 9, the leadership must not change!

3-With a candidacy not from the ranks of the DP, but from civil society proposed by one of the new parties, the Democratic Party de facto loses the trophy of the main party in the Opposition. The main opposition party becomes the one proposing the candidate.

4-If I'm wrong with the first three, then there's something even more pessimistic: The Democratic Party, which was once an inspiration and with inexhaustible human resources, now cannot find a serious candidacy from its ranks that wouldn't come out with a ridiculous result.

In the Democratic Party, the leaders should have been embarrassed about who to choose among the names from their ranks and not announce a public call for a job offer for a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.

I have spoken and continue to speak every day to prevent this from happening. But that party has lost touch with its members, with its citizens, and with reality.
