It is a pleasure and a privilege to be among you today in Kukel, in Kukl i Mjeda, in this sacred space of our culture, where the "Ndre Mjeda" Museum Center, which has held the status of a First Category Cultural Monument since 2012, brings us together every year to honor the life and work of one of the nation's greatest poets and thinkers, Ndre Mjeda.
The 20th edition of the Days of Honor of Mjeda is proof of a lasting tradition, of a commitment that comes from the community, from researchers, and from institutions that support this event with love and responsibility.
Mjeda remains a cornerstone of Albanian culture: a poet of extraordinary finesse, a dedicated linguist, and a thinker in search of beauty and truth. Gathering here, in the place where he lived, created his works, and left an indelible mark on Albanian culture, is a way to bring attention back to our cultural roots and to nourish our collective memory with the values he embodied.
Let this 20th edition be an incentive to continue studies on Mjeda, to deepen the dialogue between generations and to keep alive his humanistic and civic spirit, to be ever more part of the spirit of the language and culture that constitutes us, Albanian.
I thank the organizers, researchers, and all those who work every year to preserve and promote this precious heritage.
