An elderly man was found dead this morning in the village of Zhapokike 2, Memaliaj municipality.
Witnesses found the lifeless body of 72-year-old Faik Ajdini, a resident of this village, where they informed the police. The old man was found dead in a stream near the village by family members.
From the preliminary findings on the body of the deceased, two blows to the neck and head were found, where the wound in the neck caused hemorrhage, which caused death.
The blows were with cutting tools, ax or knife. The very difficult terrain in the stream where the body of the deceased is found, has made the specialists of the investigation group go to the scene to come to concrete conclusions.
The body of the deceased has not yet been moved until the examinations are completed. According to the initial track, Faik Hajdini was shot to death and in order to lose track, the killer threw him into the abyss.
Initially, it was reported that the elderly man had fallen from the abyss and as a result had lost his life. But it was the forensics experts who identified the blows to the head and neck that caused the death of Faik Aydini.
Meanwhile, the alarm about the loss of traces of the elderly was given by his family members who had more than 48 hours without any contact with him.
Meanwhile, Gjirokastra Police has set up 2 roadblocks on the Memaliaj-Krahës national axis and on the Memaliaj-Third Sector and Krahës-Rabije local axes. It is not yet known why the incident may have happened and the police do not have any suspects for this murder.
