The 49-year-old woman who set herself on fire today in Korça has passed away. The 49-year-old could not survive the burns and bodily injuries.

Initially it was said that the cause was the explosion of a gas cylinder, but police investigations revealed that the woman in question doused herself with fuel and set herself on fire before jumping from the balcony.

"Today on 04.07.2024 around 2:30 p.m., in district no. 10, Korçë, SK citizen, about 49 years old, is suspected to have doused herself with fuel, set herself on fire and then jumped from the balcony. As a result, this citizen received burns and bodily injuries and is being treated in the hospital ," the police announced.

Meanwhile, a 64-year-old woman died today in Korça after consuming phototoxin.
