The Court of Appeal has left unchanged the sentence against Fredi Rrushi, accused of murdering businessman Ruzhdi Hoxha
He was sentenced to 15 years in the First Degree, taking advantage of the shortened trial, the sentence is reduced to 10 years.
The decision of the First Instance was appealed by the victim's father and son, but the Appeal decided not to accept the appeal for lack of legitimacy.
In pretense, the capital's prosecutor's office had requested 18 years in prison for Rushi.
Fredi Rrushi was arrested in Tirana on October 26, 2021 when it was discovered that his number had received frequent calls to the phone of the businessman whose family had reported him missing. Rushi was initially escorted to be questioned but was detained when the arrest warrant from Italy was discovered. The investigators already have evidence that proves, according to them, that Rrushi took him in the car and took Rruzhdi Hoxha to Dajti Mountain where he was found dead in Qafë-Mollë.
After being kidnapped, businessman Ruzhdi Hoxha was physically abused and then executed with two bullets in Qafë Mollë in Dajt, where his body was thrown into an abyss and then covered with stones and leaves to avoid being found. The author of this whole event is suspected to be his friend, Fredi Rrushi, arrested by the police and wanted by Interpol Rome for drug trafficking in Italy. The author's brother, Pajtim Rrushi, 42 years old, also ended up in handcuffs, as he was an accomplice in the crime. The 42-year-old is accused of the criminal offenses "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth" and "Hiding or disposing of the corpse", while the author of the kidnapping and murder of the citizen Ruzhdi Hoxha, Fredi Rrushi, is charged with "Premeditated murder" "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Hiding the corpse". The two bullets that killed Ruzhid Hoxha hit him in the neck and chest area. After the murder, his sweatshirt was removed, which had the mark of a bullet, and after it was torn, it was thrown on the street.
