Operational forces, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Prisons, have conducted surprise checks in detention facilities in Vlora.
It is learned that the officers arrived a few minutes ago and are conducting detailed verifications, as well as thorough checks in all areas of the institution.
The checks are focused on each cell, with the aim of identifying and seizing illegal items.
This action is part of the routine checks that are being carried out in all prison institutions in the country, with the aim of increasing security and preventing illegal activities within them.
Support forces from the prisons in Fier and Peqin also participated in the operation.
The checks are ongoing and it is expected that an official report on the results of this action will be released in the coming hours.
