The family members of Arben Lleshi, who was killed in Peqin prison, claim that the victim is not their relative.
Under these conditions, the Prosecutor's Office has decided to compare DNA with his sister. After the DNA comparison, it will be given to the Municipality to carry out the burial.
The family has long refused to perform the burial ceremony, fearing revenge, while now they have raised claims that he is not their relative.
He was executed in his cell in the Peqin high security prison at noon on December 15, 2023, by Sokol Mjacaj.
Arben Lleshi was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder and then the burning of the lifeless body of Agim Hoxha in 2012 in Great Britain.
The execution of Arben Lleshi is suspected to have been carried out for blood feud motives. Earlier, unidentified persons killed his two uncles while kidnapping and missing his two first cousins.
Despite the fact that the Lleshi family has so far lost 5 members, they are still afraid of revenge, even though it turns out that the relatives had abandoned the 37-year-old and none of them had met in prison in recent years.
Mjacaj, sentenced to life for the murder of two Czech tourists in 2015 in Prekal of the Great Highlands, surrendered his weapon and was arrested an hour after the incident, in the presence of the general director of prisons. The murder was allegedly carried out for pay, for revenge and led to the arrest of the prison director, the police chief and 10 security personnel.
The court of Elbasan communicated to Mjacaj a new measure of arrest, while the Prosecution of Elbasan brought charges against the second convict, Indrit Shaqja, with suspicions that he was involved in the murder of Arben Lleshi after Sokol Mjacaj. There are doubts that Indrit Shaqja, who was also injured by gunshots, was involved in Mjacaj's plan.
