A boat driver has been fined 500,000 new lek and his dinghy has been blocked after violating the security perimeter on Dhërmi beach, endangering the lives of vacationers.
According to the Border Police, the incident was discovered after complaints from citizens, who reported that a rubber dinghy had entered the area very close to the shore where vacationers were bathing in the sea.
Footage of the incident was filmed by citizens and published on social media, prompting an immediate response from the authorities.
The services of the Dhërmi Border Police Station, in cooperation with the Vlora DVKM Marine Police Unit, intervened immediately and identified the dinghy, which was driven by the citizen with the initials FD.
After administrative procedures, an administrative measure of 500 thousand new lek was imposed on the driver, while the vessel was impounded.
The Border Police announced that checks and patrols have been intensified along the entire coastline from Vlora to Ksamil, in order to guarantee the safety of vacationers during the tourist season.
"The driver of the vessel who violated the security perimeter with a floating vehicle, endangering the lives of vacationers on the beach, will be fined 500,000 new lek.
The Border Police also blocked the vessel.
The Border Police and the Vlora Marine Police Unit of the Vlora Coast Guard have intensified measures, significantly increasing patrols on the Vlora-Ksamil coastline.
During patrol, Border Police services received a report from vacationers that a rubber dinghy had entered the vicinity of the coast in the Dhërmi area, endangering the safety of beachgoers.
This case was filmed by citizens and was also published on the JOQ portal.
Immediately, the services of the Dhërmi Border Police Station and the Maritime Police Unit intervened immediately and found the inflatable boat with the driver, citizen FD.
At the end of the administrative procedures, an administrative fine of 500,000 new lek was imposed on the driver.
The vessel was also blocked.
"The Border Police appeals to all users of watercraft to strictly respect the navigation rules and the safety perimeter for vacationers who go to the beach in designated areas," the police statement said.
