58-year-old Martin Marku alias Bardhi, through a decision of the Lezha court, was released from prison in July 2023.
It is learned that Bardhi has claimed that he had nothing to do with the gun attack on Saimir Reçi that happened on March 26, 2023, presenting to the court footage that he was in another place.
Bardhi has told the jury that he was not at the scene of the incident nor did he fire a gun at Saimir Reçi.
Film footage and several witnesses have convinced the court that Martin Bardhi, at the time of the gun attack on Reçi, was in another place in the company of several people.
Based on this situation, in July 2023 at the request of the prosecution, the court of Lezha has decided to change the security measure from "arrest in prison" to "compulsion to appear".
Martin Bardhi's son, Enrik Bardhi, is still being sought for this event, who is accused of "premeditated murder" and "unlicensed possession of weapons".
Bardhi had enjoyed his freedom for only 2 months, while in September he started going out freely in the town of Rrëshen.
His presence in the city had set in motion the members of the Reçi tribe in Rrëshen, who yesterday organized the killing of Bardhi in the middle of the city and the wounding of three other people.
