The Special Operations Force has finalized the operation codenamed "Operation 42" by arresting a 57-year-old man sentenced to 24 years in prison by Italian authorities.
Fatbardh Haxhiu alias Bardhyl Haxhiu, 57 years old, according to official information, has been sentenced by Italian authorities to 24 years in prison as a member of a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics.
This citizen was internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Appeal of Naples, Italy, in 2008, sentenced him to 24 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Criminal organization for the purpose of drug trafficking."
This citizen, in collaboration with other Albanian citizens, trafficked quantities of cocaine ranging from 15 to 130 kg in Caserta, Italy.
Interpol Tirana is cooperating with counterparts in Rome to finalize the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
