The hearing continues at the GJKKO for the assassination attempt against former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj on the Shkozet overpass, where Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi", was injured and driver Andi Maloku lost his life.
The two defendants, Julian Meçaj and Plarent Dervishaj, have stated that their right to a fair trial is being violated.
"You are asking to punish us or to clarify the incident. Only one party is being punished, while the other party is free, here it has not yet been determined who was the target. For my June incident, I call it luck that we were in that car, we escaped because I also had my son's car. God help me, and Andi Malokun helped. I am not asking for mercy from you regarding this matter, punish us for what we have on our backs, not for what we have," said Plaurent Dervishaj.
Meanwhile, Julian Meçaj claims that none of the witnesses know him.
"All these witnesses have come when none of them know me or I know them, now I don't know how to defend myself. There is no logic to it all, the principle of due process is being violated here, I don't understand what they are coming for," he said.
