Immigrants were passing through Great Britain with fake passports, the Albanian

Albanian Sait Ruçi has been sentenced to 3 years in prison after bringing 16 illegal immigrants to Great Britain by providing them with fake passports from EU countries.

The 16 immigrants were Albanians, helped by Ruçi who provided them with fake passports on the airlines.

Sait Ruçi used a fake Italian ID and stole the identity of an innocent man to open bank accounts and buy plane tickets to the UK.

The migrants, all from Albania, paid for a fake EU passport and a plane ticket to Great Britain.

For this type of relief criminals could pay upwards of £10,000 per person. Ruçi was sentenced today to three years in prison at Isleworth Crown Court for illegal immigration.

In many cases, fraudulent documents and bookings have been identified by airlines or European airport authorities prior to departure.

Sixteen individuals traveled to the UK but their documents were found to be false by Border Force officers on arrival.

With the cooperation of airports and airlines, Home Office investigators were able to link the bookings together and trace them to Ruçi.

Investigations into Ruci's cellphone revealed even more fake documents, ready to be used for criminal purposes.

Deputy Director of Criminal and Financial Investigations at the Home Office, Chris Foster, said: "Today's sentence is the result of strong inter-agency cooperation to bring this people smuggler to justice. Today we have removed another link in the chain of organized criminals facilitating illegal entry into the UK. I am grateful for the tireless efforts of the officers who identified and investigated this complex case."
