The Internal Control Service in the Prison System has suspended three officers from their duties after allowing drugs in Peqin prison.
It is learned that the three officers in cooperation with each other enabled the prisoners to introduce narcotics into the cell, in exchange for monetary benefits. According to SHKBB, illegal activity has been documented in at least three cases.
" The Internal Control Service in the Prison System in cooperation with the General Directorate of Prisons under the direction of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, has executed the Execution Order dated 13.06.2023, issued on the basis of decision no. .391 dated 12.06.2023 issued by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, for the assignment of the coercive personal security measure "Prohibition of exiting the country" and "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" against the persons under investigation ;

From the procedural actions carried out under the direction of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan, on the basis of the material sent by SHKBB, has registered the criminal proceedings, since the above citizens in cooperation with each other have allowed the introduction of narcotics into IEVP Peqin for the purpose of selling and profiting of monetary values, this carried out at different times and periods. Illegal activity has been documented on at least three occasions by the Internal Audit Service in the Prison System. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan for further action ", it was stated in the announcement of the SHKKB.
