The Supreme Court has rejected the recourse requested by Suel Çela for a lighter security measure and not prison arrest. Çela, also known as Marjus Lulaj, has appealed his case to the High Court, after the appeal of the GJKKO upheld the security measure "prison arrest" taken by the First Instance, while he requested relief from sentence, although he is not currently in prison, but on the run.
Who is Suel Çela?
Suel Çela has been accused as one of the protagonists of September 18, 2017 in the city of Elbasan. Initially accused of murdering the police officers caught in the attempt, Suel Çela was also found not guilty of resisting the forces. The court said during the decision that the prosecution of serious crimes failed to prove with evidence the involvement of Suel Çela in the event of the agri-food market.
The evidence found in the "Audi" vehicle that also appears on the security cameras does not show whether or not Çela was present at the time of the incident.
Together with Endri Çopje, he is also accused of attempting to kidnap a person and injuring him, an event that happened in 2013.
